Before any timepiece leaves the SwissClone horological workshop, our technicians perform a comprehensive 48-Hour Quality Control (QC) Inspection—sending you high-resolution macro photographs, a personalized functionality video, and a live Weishi No. 1900 Timegrapher acoustic readout via WhatsApp or email. Whether you are a seasoned `r/RepTimeQC` veteran or ordering your first 1:1 super clone, this guide teaches you how to read every number on the screen like a master watchmaker.
- 1. Rate (Seconds per Day, s/d): Ideal range is -4 s/d to +6 s/d (COSC chronometer territory). Anything within ±8 s/d is healthy and stable.
- 2. Amplitude (Degrees °): Measures balance wheel swing arc. Ideal is 270° to 310° for standard calibres (2824, 3135, DD4130) and 250° to 285° for 72-hour low-lift-angle calibres (VS3235, DD3285).
- 3. Beat Error (Milliseconds, ms): Measures symmetry between the ‘tick’ and ‘tock’ impulse. Ideal is 0.0 ms to 0.3 ms (anything under 0.6 ms is acceptable).
- 4. Beat Rate (vph / bph): 28,800 vph (Rolex, AP 15500/26240, Patek 324), 25,200 vph (Omega Co-Axial 8800/8900), or 21,600 vph (Patek 5712 Cal.240, AP 15202).
1. Decoding the Three Primary Timegrapher Metrics
A Timegrapher is an acoustic stethoscope for mechanical watches. By clamping the watch case against a piezoelectric microphone, it listens to the 6 to 8 microscopic ticks per second of the pallet fork striking the escape wheel teeth and plots a diagonal trace line across the LCD screen.
| Timegrapher Metric | Championship / COSC Spec | Healthy Green-Light (GL) Range | When Our Watchmakers Re-Regulate (RL) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rate (s/d) | -2 s/d to +4 s/d | -6 s/d to +8 s/d (Flat Trace) | Beyond ±12 s/d or Wavy Trace |
| Amplitude (Standard Calibres) | 280° – 305° (at 52° Lift) | 265° – 315° | Below 235° or Above 330° (Knocking) |
| Amplitude (VS3235 / DD3285) | 255° – 285° (53° Escapement) | 245° – 295° | Below 225° Fully Wound |
| Beat Error (ms) | 0.0 ms – 0.2 ms | 0.0 ms – 0.5 ms | 0.7 ms or Higher (Double Line) |

2. The 5 Visual Macro Checkpoints in Your 48-Hour QC Album
Alongside the electronic Timegrapher test, our QC inspectors verify five physical aesthetics on every watch—whether you ordered a VSF Rolex Submariner 126610LV Starbucks, a Clean Factory Rolex Daytona 116500LN, or an AP Royal Oak 15500ST Blue Dial:
- Index & Rehaut Alignment: Verifying that the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock applied batons sit straight and that the inner rehaut coronet aligns at 12 o’clock.
- Cyclops & Date Wheel Centering: Checking double-digit dates (10, 15, 23, 28) inside the 2.5x Cyclops window or AP/Patek aperture.
- Solid End Link (SEL) Flushness: Inspecting the four corners where the first bracelet link meets the case lugs for zero daylight gaps.
- Hand Stack & Bezel Pip Alignment: Confirming the 12 o’clock luminous bezel pearl aligns dead-center with the 12 o’clock marker.
- Vacuum Water-Resistance Seal: Pressure-testing the caseback and screw-down crown gaskets.
